Recovery in the Light Joins as P.A.A.R.I. Partner to Offer Treatment Services to Participants

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Gloucester Police Chief Leonard Campanello and John Rosenthal, co-founders of the Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative (P.A.A.R.I.), are pleased to announce that Recovery in the Light has joined the growing list of treatment centers that have partnered with P.A.A.R.I. to offer addiction recovery services to participants.

Over the summer, Chief Campanello and businessman John Rosenthal launched P.A.A.R.I. — a nonprofit organization created in response to the Gloucester Police Department’s ANGEL Initiative. Rather than arrest their way out of the problem of drug addiction, police departments place those who come to them for help into treatment programs. As partnerships with recovery centers continue to grow, so does P.A.A.R.I.’s ability to support police departments who want to assist their communities in saving lives.

Recovery in the Light is an established treatment facility that focuses on not only changing, but saving, lives in a positive and welcoming environment. Each comprehensive treatment plan is individually tailored for every client, with the goal of providing any assistance needed for long-term recovery. Participants will attend individual, group and family counseling, 12-step groups, relapse prevention planning and skills training.

In addition to partnering with P.A.A.R.I. to provide treatment services to program participants, Recovery in the Light has recently begun working with the Broward County Drug Court System to provide outpatient services to individuals who are currently in that system. Recovery in the Light also works with a nonprofit organization, The Addict’s Mom, which offers support for mothers of those suffering from addiction.

Chief Campanello and Rosenthal are pleased to welcome Recovery in the Light as a partner and applaud them for taking the initiative to provide additional resources for P.A.A.R.I. They are eager to work with Recovery in the Light in order to continue their mission of saving lives and destigmatizing the disease of addiction.

About Recovery in the Light:

Recovery in the Light is an intensive outpatient treatment facility for patients who have either not previously attended an inpatient treatment program or have completed one. The outpatient program is meant to identify the social, occupational, educational, medical and residential needs that each client requires for long-term recovery through a wide array of case management services. Treatment services include cognitive behavioral therapy, addiction therapy, aftercare, dual diagnosis, intensive outpatient and outpatient programs.

Recovery in the Light works closely with inpatient treatment facilities in Southern Florida to ensure continuity of care throughout the entire treatment process. Additionally, they offer transportation assistance, prescription assistance programs, and will help clients apply for public assistance if they are eligible. 

About P.A.A.R.I.:

P.A.A.R.I. was started to support local police departments as they work with opioid addicts. Rather than arrest our way out of the problem of drug addiction, P.A.A.R.I. committed police departments:

• Encourage opioid drug users to seek recovery
• Help distribute life saving opioid blocking drugs to prevent and treat overdoses
• Connect people suffering with opioid addiction with treatment programs and facilities
• Provide resources to other police departments and communities that want to do more to fight the opioid addiction epidemic

P.A.A.R.I. was created by Gloucester Police Chief Leonard Campanello and John Rosenthal to bridge the gap between the police department and persons suffering from the disease of opiate addiction who are seeking recovery. Since its founding, more than 40 police departments in 14 states have joined as partners with the initiative.
