This funding opportunity provides funding to local, state, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies to implement novel or innovative projects that work to solve problems in the agency or community, to advance crime fighting, community engagement, problem solving, or organizational changes in support of community policing.

FY25 Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Site-Based Program
This funding opportunity seeks to support state, territorial, local, and tribal governments to reduce overdose deaths and the impact of illicit substance use and misuse on individuals and communities. Through this program, state, territorial, local, and tribal governments can increase access to prevention services, enhance harm reduction initiatives, expand treatment and recovery services, and develop and increase other resources and supports in the community and justice system.

Safer Outcomes Solicitation
The FY24 Safer Outcomes: Enhancing De-Escalation and Crisis Response Training for Law Enforcement solicitations will close on on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 4:59 PM ET.

Community Partnership for Deflection and Substance Use Disorder Treatment 2 Notice of Funding Opportunity # 1705-2830
The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority is requesting proposals for grants to law enforcement, other first responders, and local government agencies to develop and implement collaborative deflection programs in Illinois. These programs offer immediate pathways to substance use treatment and other services as an alternative to traditional case processing and involvement in the criminal justice system, and to unnecessary admission to emergency departments. A total of $325,801 in funding is available through this solicitation for use over a ten-month period. Grant requests are limited to a minimum of $75,000, and maximum of $145,833.

FY24 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program—Local Solicitation
With this solicitation, the Bureau of Justice Assistance seeks applications for formula funding to provide additional personnel and/or purchase equipment, supplies, contractual support, training, technical assistance, and information systems for criminal justice or civil proceedings, including for any one or more of the following program areas:
- Law enforcement programs.
- Prosecution and court programs.
- Prevention and education programs.
- Corrections and community corrections programs.
- Drug treatment and enforcement programs.
- Planning, evaluation, and technology improvement programs.
- Crime victim and witness programs (other than compensation).
- Mental health programs and related law enforcement and corrections programs, including behavioral programs and crisis intervention teams.
- Implementation of state crisis intervention court proceedings and related programs or initiatives, including but not limited to mental health courts, drug courts, veterans courts, and extreme risk protection order programs.
This solicitation is only for local formula funds. BJA issued a separate solicitation for applications from states.
Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP) Reaching Rural: Advancing Collaborative Solutions
The Reaching Rural Initiative is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the State Justice Institute (SJI). The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) is releasing this solicitation on their behalf.
