Last Thursday, Feb. 7, P.A.A.R.I Executive Director Allie Hunter McDade and six P.A.A.R.I law enforcement representatives attended a meeting at the White House Eisenhower Executive Office Building, hosted by Vice President Mike Pence and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). During his remarks, Pence thanked law enforcement for their service and leadership on the front lines of the nation’s drug epidemic.Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway introduced Vice President Mike Pence and emphasized the importance of community policing approaches to the opioid crisis, mentioning P.A.A.R.I by name during her remarks.
The P.A.A.R.I delegation also participated in a follow up meeting with ONDCP Director Jim Carroll, where they discussed emerging drug trends and the national drug control strategy.P.A.A.R.I was grateful to have a seat at the table for these high level conversations and for the opportunity to highlight our work saving lives and addressing the epidemic through non-arrest law enforcement strategies.In attendance:
