Amid COVID-19, people with substance use disorders are more vulnerable than ever, and overdoses are on the rise in many communities. Police efforts responding to overdoses and providing pathways to treatment and recovery has never been more important. In our newest roll call video, we’ll walk through a scenario that shows how you might utilize fentanyl test strips as an engagement tool and safely connect with someone seeking recovery information and support. This training video is part of a pilot project with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Brandeis University, and 11 police departments to see how the distribution of fentanyl test strips can help increase engagement and create pathways to treatment and recovery.
