Corporal, Cape Girardeau Police Department

Why do you want to be a PAARI Pro?

“I am applying for the PAARI Pros initiative to contribute my experience and expertise to advancing law enforcement deflection programs nationwide…My most impactful work has been leading the Cape Girardeau Police Department’s Co-Responder Unit (CRU), a program I developed in 2023 to integrate mental health professionals into police responses. This initiative has provided non-arrest pathways to care for individuals in crisis, embodying the mission of PAARI. Joining the PAARI Pros network aligns with my passion for creating non-arrest alternatives and advancing community policing models. I am eager to share the lessons learned from implementing the CRU, collaborate with like-minded professionals, and help guide others in launching deflection programs that improve public safety and health outcomes. I believe my blend of hands-on experience, strategic program development, and commitment to mental health advocacy uniquely positions me to support PAARI’s mission effectively.”
