Director of the J. Reuben Long Detention Center
Marcus Rhodes has served as Director of the J. Reuben Long Detention Center since February 2020 and brings more than 35 years of law enforcement experience to the role. He began his career in 1990 and has served with the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety, the Horry County Police Department, and the Horry County Sheriff's Office in assignments including patrol, investigations, school resource officer, and community policing. Director Rhodes is a graduate of the National Institute for Jail Operations' ELITE Academy, a Past President of the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association, and serves on several boards supporting Special Olympics, officer wellness, and addiction recovery.
